Classroom Management

My classroom management plan is based on my training from the Capturing Kids Hearts Program. It is my belief that a caring teacher and a structured classroom providing activities will reduce the number of behavior problems. Starting at the beginning of the school year students will know what is expected of them from daily routines and procedures and will be practiced daily. Here is my procedure for maintaining a well-managed classroom developed from the Capturing Kids Hearts program:

  1. Citizenship Folder

    • As a way to redirect behavior each student will be given a citizenship folder. In this folder the the expectations that I have for them.

      • First offense

        • Students will be given for questions

          • “What are you doing?”

          • “What are you supposed to be doing?”

          • “Were you doing that?”

          • “What are you going to do?”

      • Second offense

        • Mark in folder

      • Third Offense

        • Behavior reflection and a mark

      • Four offense

        • Call parent and a mark

      • Fifth Offence

        • Sent to office

    • Some behaviors are more severe and in that circumstance and they may skip other steps

    • If students are placed in ISS they will receive 5 marks everyday they are there.

Please let me know anytime there is a problem. I like to take care of issues before that get too big. I would like to thank you for your support this year in advance. We will be working as a team to make sure your child has a successful year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
